Glossary
BENTHOS - organisms that lives on or in the bottom of a body of water.
CARNIVORES - Eats animals.
EPIFLORA - A plant that is attached to the bottom of the ocean but lives above the ground.
HOLOPLANKTON - type of zooplankton that spend their entire life in a floating state as plankton.
INFAUNA - Animals that live in the bottom of the ocean floor.
MEROPLANKTON - A type of zooplankton that exist as plankton for only part of their life.
NEKTON - marine and freshwater organisms that can swim freely and are generally independent of currents.
OMNIVORES - Eats both plants and animals.
PRODUCERS - Plants that make their own food.
