George's Big Adventure By Mrs. Pucciarello 's 2nd Grade |
Chapter Six The Grasshopper Goes Ice Skating by Kaitlin Lane |
Friday morning, as Kaitlin sat down, George jumped on her desk. Kaitlin asked, "What do you want George?" George replied, "I want to go home with you for the weekend." Then Kaitlin said, "Okay, but I have to ask my mother when she picks me up from school."
The day went on and it was finally time to leave for the weekend. Kaitlin's morn, Mrs. Lane, came inside the classroom. Kaitlin asked, "Is it okay if George comes home with us for the weekend?" "Yes, that sounds great!" answered Mrs. Lane. "But, is it okay with Mrs. Pucciarello?"
"I'll ask her," said Kaitlin. "Mrs. Pucciarello, is it okay if I take George home?" Mrs. Pucciarello replied, "Yes, if you'll take care of him and make sure he comes back on Monday."
Mrs. Lane, Kaitlin and George left the school for the weekend. Since it was Friday, they drove straight to the Galleria Ice Skating Center, where Kaitlin takes ice skating lessons. George hopped in Kaitlin's ice skating bag and stayed there all the way to Dallas.
When they got to the rink, Kaitlin asked her coaches, Miss Carol and Miss Emily if George could skate with her. They both said, "Yes." Miss Carol asked everyone to clear the ice for Kaitlin and George to skate by themselves. As they skated, they noticed people taking pictures of them. Then, after a few hours of skating, it was time to go home.
For the rest of the weekend all George and Kaitlin could talk about was all the fun they had on the ice. George couldn't wait till Monday morning to tell everybody at school about his ice skating adventure.
