Chapter Twelve

George's Big Mistake

by

Joel Wakefield

One day, George signed up for football. The man didn't know George was a grasshopper. He thought George was a senior in High School. George was not a senior.

He gave George the suit for football. George went to football practice everyday. Soon, it was time for the first football game. George had a problem. He couldn't pick up the football even though he had grown to a foot and a half. So, he decided to bring his own ball. It was hard for the other players to catch George's ball.

George invited everyone in his class to come to the football game. They all agreed to show up. That night, George was very excited. Almost, too excited to play. The announcer said, "Tonight, we will see some unusual sights, like a grasshopper at the game!" Then he introduced George and said, "George Pucciarello, a grasshopper, one foot and a half tall."

Throughout the game, George never got tackled because he was too fast. At the end of the game, the trophy went to George Pucciarello. He displayed it on Mrs. Pucciarello's desk at school.
