George's Spring Break

by

Pres McKissack

One day George was feeling sad. Pres went up to George and said, "What is wrong?" George said, "Pres, I have no one to play with while everybody is gone for spring break. "You can come with me," said Pres. George said, "Okay!"

So, the day before spring break, Pres asked his morn if George could come with them. His morn said, "It is up to Mrs. Pucciarello." So Pres asked Mrs. Pucciarello. She said, "Okay, but you must take care of him."

The next day George and Pres said goodbye to everybody at school. George asked, "Where are we going?" Pres said, "We are going to New Mexico to go snowboarding." George asked, "What is snowboarding?" "It is riding on a board that is on the snow," replied Pres.

The following day, Pres and George arrived in New Mexico. After they got their rooms, Pres and George went to check out the snowboards. Pres said to George, "You need to sign up for lessons before you get on the slopes." George asked if he could try it just one time without lessons. Pres said, "Okay."

George was a natural at snowboarding. He did not need any lessons for the rest of the two weeks. George and Pres had so much fun. They couldn't wait to tell the kids at school how much fun they had.
