Chapter Three

The Grasshopper's Escape

by

Scott Gee

It was 8:30 a.m. and Mrs. Pucciarello's class began. Scott finished his work early. He went to the Reading Cave. As Scott sat there reading, he noticed the grasshopper up above him.

Quietly, he tried to catch the grasshopper. The grasshopper jumped away from Scott. Then, Mrs. Pucciarello asked Scott, "What are you doing?" Scott replied, "The grasshopper is back behind the Reading Cave."

Mrs. Pucciarello was called out of the classroom for a minute. Scott, Hunter and Bo decided to look for the grasshopper while Mrs. Pucciarello was out of the room.

While they looked for the grasshopper, Hunter found it, but it hopped away.
